Well it’s the start of another year! I finished 2019 as always in the Apley Farm Shop Santa’s Grotto, which was a fantastic event where we got some brilliant photos. I’m looking forward to making some changes to the lighting layout for 2020, although that’s months away it’s still good to get some thoughts down while the experience is fresh in my mind! A big thank you to all our regular and new customers who gave us such brilliant feedback at the events we attended, I value every one of you and it’s really encouraging to know when people are happy.
For 2020 I’ll have another photographer shooting alongside me at bigger events. This has been quite a long time coming, mainly because although I get approached quite a lot by other photographers looking for opportunities, sadly the quality of their work isn’t quite what I’m looking for – and I’ve also been too busy with commercial work to find the headroom for bigger events. So I was delighted when Bob Howell approached me towards the end of last year and I discovered that his style is quite similar.
Bob is a published, freelance photographer with a particular interest in wildlife, equine, and all types of sporting events including horse jumping, dressage, cross-country, golf, swimming and dance. His photos are of course excellent and I’m really looking forward to shooting together. I had to laugh when I asked him for a headshot, like me he has very few!
