A Decent Exposure Photography & Media have quite a passion for photographing food, drinks, restaurants and menus in Shropshire and Staffordshire and we've got a great portfolio of fantastic images to show, which have consistently delighted our customers. Our clients include chefs, food entrepreneurs looking for a different way to present their fresh ideas on Instagram and Twitter, start ups, restaurants, cafés, coffes shops and artisan manufacturers with specialised food products.
Our food photography has been used in books and magazines as well as on websites and for publicity and marketing material. We've photographed food with some of the top Shropshire chefs and restaurants including Chris Burt, James Sherwin, Stuart Phillips, Suree Coates and Sabrina Zeif and their food creations always looks fantastic and the styling reflects their own approach.
What we do
Every food shoot is different and so we always aim to talk extensively to our clients both before and during the session to understand how they want their food to be presented and work alongside them to carefully present their dishes or products to look their very best. We like to determine how the photos are going to be used and our style will reflect this, so we’re often adapting to photograph food for a range of categories including Instagram, Twitter and Facebook social media channels, website marketing, menus, magazines and large print for advertising.
we pride ourselves on our attention to detail with the arrangement and final editing and we can of course take the lead if preferred using our extensive experience to stylise the products. We review a range of photographs as we shoot them making small adjustments to arrangement and lighting with varied angles, backdrops and orientations so images can be used across a broad range of media, ideal for publication and website use - and we have a lot of accompanying items to help to add those little touches to present dishes perfectly, making the end result exciting and very visual. We carry a range of props to help to decorate food, with careful arrangement and layout, including plain and decorated crockery, modern and vintage cutlery and table linen.
Our style is highly adaptable to suit the look and feel of our clients’ requirements. For start ups we like to discuss the preference for a style going forward and for established clients we look in detail at existing photographs to ensure that images fit closely with any work that’s been previously shot.
Our photography isn’t just limited to food. We recognise that the food is only part of a restaurant business so we can additionally create equally professional environmental and corporate portraits by photographing key staff, including head chefs, front of house employees and architectural shots of the premises. All of these areas are interesting to customers, particularly those that show a vibrant environment alongside the final food dishes.
We deliver proof images quickly using our client response gallery on our website, which allows clients and their marketing team to view photos, indicate their preferred images and give feedback on any areas such as cropping to enable final edited images to be quickly turned around.
