For the past few years I’ve been delighted to cover year 11 proms in Shropshire, with very happy customers who always ask me to come back the following year. These always occur over a very short timeframe (just after exams!) so my availability is quite limited, but I try to get at least two dates in the schedule. Prom photography is an interesting diversion from event, corporate and commercial photography although of course a lot of the usual skills come into play!
We print on site at a prom with three print sizes and order in luxury mounts just for the event. This year we’ve taken a decision to offer digital download packages which we’re really excited about – uploading the images as they’re shot always happens thanks to our wireless connection between the cameras and the viewing stations, so adding a further step to regularly update our online gallery and give students the opportunity to view and download their images was straightforward.
Our prom photography approach covers three different areas so we can capture students in a range of surroundings. We shoot on the red carpet, which always gives an opportunity to get some great arrival shots and also some nice candid ones while excited students arrive. Inside the venue we have a backdrop and studio flash setup so we can capture more formal portraits and if the venue has gardens we spend an hour or two shooting individual and group portraits. These are always very popular and really do look fantastic when printed. Natural portraits are a mini photoshoot, with careful arrangement and some fill flash to produce images that really showcase a prom dress or suit!
We still have some availability for 2020 prom bookings, if you’re organising one in Shropshire or Staffordshire please contact us.
